McCormick Food Coloring

There's something quite cute about the McCormick food coloring capsules. Instantly recognized by anybody; the coloring seems to have stayed the same since I was a kid, and that was a long time ago!

Ingredients:

2 Egg Whites (1/4 Cup)

1 & 1/2 Cups Granulated Sugar

1 Tablespoon Light Corn Syrup or 1/4 Teaspoon Cream Of Tarter

1 Teaspoon Vanilla Extract




Makes Enough...

To fill & frost an 8" or 9" two layer cake or frost a 13" x 9" x 2" cake. Of course, if you need more just double the amount of ingredients!

Instructions

In top of double broiler, combine egg whites, sugar, corn syrup, & 1/3 cup water

Mix 1 Minute

Cook over rapidly boiling water (water in bottom should not touch top of double broiler), beating constantly for 7 minutes until stiff peaks form

Remove from boiling water. Add Vanilla (or any extract to experiment with & your choice of McCormick Coloring); continue beating till frosting is thick, around 2 minutes
