Hunts Ketchup

Hunts ketchup I love, simply because my French fries, fried potatoes, hot dogs, bratwurst and burgers demand it. Add chopped onions and sauerkraut for the brats and dogs, sliced cheese for the burgers and a fried mess of red taters with yellow onions and I can sincerely say extreme ketchup joy! I've heard stories of people eating the product just to stay alive during the depression in the early 1900's. Please, as a country, let's not go back there. I'm old enough to know people that lived through it and they told me simply that they dialed way down, showed some bark, ate as cheap as they could and Hunt's was there, through it all. I certainly believe that condiments like ketchup (and mustard) became stronger in the great depression. The taste, quality and availability have made them giants in the condiment field. 2019: I'm right there buying it. Who would ever think twice about not having a zesty sauce on their food? Not me baby.

Below I add some hopefully future steamed or grilled dogs, buns, relish, onions, mustard along with some hamburger recipes and a whole lot of discerning taste!

Deli Burger

Ingredients:

1 pound Ground Beef (93% lean or leaner)
8 ounces deli Corned Beef, coarsely chopped
6 slices Swiss cheese
3 tablespoons yellow mustard
2 ounces dill pickle slices
6 slices rye bread, toasted

Cooking:

Combine Ground Beef and Corned Beef, mixing lightly but thoroughly.  Lightly shape into six 1/2-inch thick patties.

Place patties on grid over medium, ash-covered coals. Grill, covered, 8 to 10 minutes (over medium heat on preheated gas grill, covered, 7 to 9 minutes) until instant-read thermometer inserted horizontally into center registers 160°F, turning occasionally. Evenly top with cheese during last minute of grilling. About 4 minutes before burgers are done, place bread on grid; grill until lightly toasted, turning once.
Spread mustard over each slice of rye bread and cut in half.  Place burger on one side of bread; top with pickles.  Close sandwiches.

Cook's Tip: Reduced-fat Swiss cheese may be substituted in this recipe. Cooking times are for fresh or thoroughly thawed ground beef. Color is not a reliable indicator of ground beef doneness.

With inflation running amok with food, fuel and everything else resembling one of those heart monitors; zig, zag, up then down, I really stand on "real time pricing". What is "real time pricing"? It means I'm actually in the store calculating true prices on your order.

That's right, a real human being making it happen for you. Prices you see on Food Run Fix are close estimates and not guaranteed to be absolute because they change every day, so I have to comb the grocery lanes, see what they got, see the prices, pick the products and give you the shout out! Just like if you were shopping yourself. Simply add your items to the cart.

Don't pay anything, regardless of what you see in the cart until I send you the actual invoiced bill of the real time prices, sales tax and my delivery fee, right from the store. You also get the receipt; everything is open and upfront.
